    1. Thanks to my lovely wife and daughters for this birthday beauty.UPDATE!So glad this birthday book was saved while ill in bed. The perfection of Brian Cook's illustrations of the English countryside from the 1930's to the 1950's are still fresh and full of life. These books are worth tracking down for their vibrant dust jackets depicting rural England.FANTASTIC! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

    2. Beautiful illustrations in 'flat' colours. An amazing style of art that shows what can be done with simple colours. Yet the colour combinations should not work, but they do. The drawings with perspective are deceptively simple looking. The content of the book is simply the art with a small piece on Cook at the start. Lovely

    3. A great reference study of one of my favourite british artists from the 20th century. Absolutely beautiful work, that has inspired the great work of the likes of Paul Catherall.
